Waterfall

I came across
a waterfall
in a forest
that surprised me
because there
had only ever been
dry earth there,
but now it was a
long, flowing
waterfall
that ran in
gentle curves and
almost silence
down between the trees,
creating
little clear pools
that played
so fragilely
with the first
fallen leaves of autumn
that I wondered
whether they had
even the slightest
idea
